COLOGNE DESIGN CONFERENCE

We all know situations which made us quite uncomfortable. We all have been into situations where we looked away. We all know that feeling that we should have reacted, but we did not. My uncomfortable situation is when I was walking back home and I was standing at a traffic light. Next to me was this couple and a homeless guy. The homeless was walking straight up to the street as the women next to me started saying that it would not be a loss if this guy was hit by a car. I looked to the women and just did not know what to say. I could not believe that anyone could ever say anything like this. But she did not stop there. She started to explain why it would not be a loss and that it would be more hurtful for the car then for this human being right in front of her. I was so shocked that I did not say anything and I felt so guilty afterwards. People should not feel that comfortable to say such horrible things. When we look back, we all know situations like this. I was asking myself what makes me really angry and something that really bothers me in our society, is the way we treat each other. The way we treat people who are not in our social group. This documentary deals with exactly this topic. The topic of responsibly. For the Cologne Design Conference at IHK, 2017. I wanted to show that we are all responsible. We are all a part of something and we care for things. I wanted to show that we are one unit.
